You’ll use your trays daily as advised. Most patients see results within days, with full effects after two weeks. Temporary sensitivity is common but usually passes quickly.

From reception through to dentists, hygienists and assistants, everyone is consistently friendly, professional and welcoming. I always feel listened to, well cared for and treated with genuine respect. Everything is clearly explained, and I feel comfortable and reassured at every visit. Communication is excellent, with text and email reminders, it’s almost impossible to miss an appointment, which is really helpful when life gets busy. When I first joined the practice I had gum disease, and through their care and treatment they’ve completely got me back on track. I now have no issues with my gums or teeth, and the improvement has been massive. I’ve recommended this practice to family and friends, several of whom now attend. They’ve all been very happy with the care received and grateful for the recommendation. Overall, the level of care and professionalism is outstanding. Visit Stella Maris Dental, and we’ll assess your teeth to make sure whitening won’t damage them. By choosing whitening under dentist supervision, you’ll be protecting your teeth and getting great results.

How does teeth whitening work?

Our safe teeth whitening system uses gentle products to remove stains and correct discolouration.

We offer an at-home teeth whitening approach, using the boutique whitening custom-made trays.

Does teeth whitening hurt or cause sensitivity?

Some people find their teeth are sensitive to cold during or after whitening. Usually for 24-48 hours.

Other after effects can be gum discomfort, white patches on the gum line or a sore throat. These symptoms normally go away within a few days. If you’re prone to sensitivity, don’t worry: we have gentler options and soothing gels to make the process more comfortable.

Who is suitable (or not suitable) for teeth whitening?

Whitening works best on natural teeth, not crowns, veneers, or fillings. It’s not recommended for under-18s, during pregnancy, or if you have untreated dental issues. We’ll check all this during your consultation.

How long will my teeth stay white?

Most patients enjoy their brighter smile for 6 months to 3 years. Lifestyle factors (coffee, tea, red wine, smoking) can shorten this, but top-up kits and regular cleans with your dental hygienist help extend results.

Is teeth whitening safe?

Yes. When carried out by a qualified dentist, whitening is completely safe for your enamel and gums. DIY kits and beauty salons not run by dentists can cause serious damage – which is why choosing a regulated practice like ours matters.
