How To Smile With Confidence On Your Wedding Day

Now that almost all of the UK’s covid restrictions have been lifted, weddings have started to resume. Many couples who have put their wedding plans on hold during the pandemic are now beginning to make plans for their big day. When it comes to wedding photos, your smile is everything – so here are our top tips to make sure you truly sparkle.

Show off your sparkle with a brighter, whiter smile

When you’ve invested in a stunning wedding dress and a smart suit for your big day, you don’t want dull teeth to ruin the look. Luckily, it’s easy and painless to whiten up your teeth so that you can enjoy a sparkling smile.

Our professional, at-home teeth whitening system is quick, safe and effective and guarantees exceptional results, so you can be sure to have a stunning smile when it matters most.

Designed to fit around your busy lifestyle, home teeth whitening can be done day or night, at home or even in the office and offers exceptional results.

Walk down the aisle with a straighter smile

When it comes to walking down the aisle, you want to have confidence in your stride. Gappy or crooked teeth can be frustrating and undermine your self-esteem. Luckily, there are plenty of options for adult teeth straightening to make sure that you can walk down the aisle with the smile you deserve.

Invisalign clear aligners

One of the most popular adult teeth straightening solutions is Invisalign. The Invisalign system straightens teeth using a series of nearly invisible, removable aligners that are custom-made specifically for your teeth. As you replace each aligner approximately every week, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week, gradually moving towards the projected final position.

By using Invisalign clear aligners, achieving the smile you always dreamed of doesn’t have to be a big deal. Invisalign is clear, removable and comfortable, so won’t interfere with your appearance or your life.

Cosmetic fixed braces

We also offer cosmetic fixed braces. Although they are based on the same philosophy as metal ‘train track’ style braces, using a bracket and wire system that is fixed onto the teeth to help straighten them, our systems use discreet brackets and wires that are all tooth coloured, so they are much more inconspicuous. These systems allow very controlled movements of the teeth to achieve excellent results, in approximately 4-9 months.

Inman Removable Aligner

The Inman Aligner is a ‘spring loaded’ removable appliance that can rapidly straighten teeth with mild crowding in a matter of weeks. It works effectively on either the upper or lower front teeth and typically treatment times can range from between 6 to 16 weeks. Although not as discreet as Invisalign, it can offer a quicker and more affordable solution for simple straightening cases, helping to treat mild misalignments of the front teeth to dramatically improve their appearance and give you a beautiful smile.

Sharpen up your image with tooth restoration

Broken, chipped and cracked teeth can undermine the appearance of your smile and have an impact on your confidence. Here at Stella Maris Dental, one of the leading dental practices in the West Midlands, we offer a wide range of expert tooth restoration treatments to help you sharpen up your smile.

White fillings

A filling repairs a tooth cavity and protects it from decay. White fillings are made from composite resin to match the colour of your teeth. Many patients prefer composite resin to silver amalgam because it looks more natural and is much less noticeable when you smile. It usually takes just one appointment for a filling.

Porcelain or composite inlays

If you have tooth decay that we can’t repair with a filling, but is not too serious, we’ll use an inlay. Inlays are something between a filling and a crown and are made in a dental laboratory after your first visit. We bond them into your tooth on your second visit.

Porcelain crowns

Crowns, sometimes known as caps, protect brittle and weakened teeth. Porcelain crowns look natural and will last for years without staining, changing colour or fading. It normally takes two visits to fit a crown. At your first visit, we’ll fit a temporary crown to cover your tooth while your permanent crown is made in a dental laboratory. On your second visit, we’ll remove the temporary crown and fit your permanent one.

Tooth bonding

If your tooth is chipped, cracked, discoloured or decayed, we may be able to repair it with bonding. Bonding involves moulding and shaping composite resin onto your tooth and then hardening it with a special light. We can normally complete a bonding treatment in a single appointment without the need for an anaesthetic.
